Installation Instructions
This installation procedure applies to both the licensed version of Studio MA Manager as well as the 60 Day Trial Version.
This installation procedures assumes that if you are going to network Studio MA Manager your computers are already set up for networking and sharing drives. Cabin Software only requires that you purchase one licensed copy of Studio MA Manager for networking purposes.
If Studio MA Manager will be used on multiple networked computers within a facility then designate a computer for storing the Studio MA Manager database and program executable. This computer will be referred to as the Central Computer. The other computers tied to the Central Computer will be referred to as Peripheral Computers. The Central Computer must be operating in order for the Peripheral Computers to run the Studio MA Manager program.
To install Studio MA Manager on the Central Computer or Single Computer (if not networking) perform the following steps:
1. Insert the Studio MA Manager CD into the appropriate drive. A message box should appear asking if you want to install the Studio MA Manager program. Click the “Yes” Button to install the program.
If the message box does not appear after installing the CD into the drive, then proceed to the drive containing the Studio MA Manager CD and double-click the setup.exe file.
2. A Welcome Screen will appear. Click the “Next” Button to continue.
3. A License Agreement Screen will appear next. If you agree to the licensing terms then click “Yes” to continue.
4. The Select Destination Directory Screen will appear. A default setting of (drive):\Program Files\Studio MA Manager will be displayed. You can select this location or choose a different hard drive location for the installation of Studio MA Manager onto your computer. Click the “Next” Button to continue.
5. The Select Start Menu Folder Screen will appear. By default, Studio MA Manager will appear as the selected folder. You can keep this setting, choose from the listing, or create a new folder. The folder you enter will contain the shortcut for the Studio MA Manager program that you can access from Start, Programs.
6. The Ready to Install Screen will appear and the options you have selected will be displayed. Click the “Install” Button to start the install of files.
7. The Install Screen will appear and display the status of the installation of program files. When all files have been installed, the final screen will appear. Click the “Finish” Button. If this is the first time installing Studio MA Manager you may need to restart your computer, a message will appear informing you of this requirement. A Studio MA Manager icon will appear on your desktop.
8. If you were previously working with the trial version of Studio MA Manager and would like to continue working with the files you have created, open the licensed Studio MA Manager program and select Restore Database from the Utilities Menu at the top of the screen. The Trial Version files will be located in C:\Program Files\Studio MA Manager Trial Version unless you chose a different location when installing the Studio MA Manager trial version program. Select the location of the files and click the “Restore” Button.
To Install Studio MA Manager on Peripheral Computers, perform the following steps:
1. Insert the Studio MA Manager CD into the CD Drive of the peripheral computer and click "Yes" when the message appears asking if you wish to install Studio MA Manager.
2. The Setup Studio MA Manager Screen will appear. Click the "Next" Button to continue.
3. The License Agreement Screen will appear. Click the "Yes" Button if you accept the License Agreement.
4. The Select Destination Directory Screen will appear. In the text box at the top of this screen type in the location of Studio MA Manager on the Central Computer as follows:
\\(Name of Central Computer on Network)\C\Program Files\Studio MA Manager\
The above example assumes that the Central Computer has Studio MA Manager installed on the C drive in the Program Files folder.
Click the "Next" Button.
5. The Select Start Menu Folder Screen will appear and display "Studio MA Manager" in the text box. Click the "Next" Button.
6. The Ready to Install Screen will appear. Click the "Install" Button.
7. After files have been installed and the registry updated, the Finish Screen will appear. Click the "Finish" Button.
The Studio MA Manager icon should now be visible on the desktop screen and the Studio MA Manager Program ready to use.
